Course Counseling and course registration in MITS
You can register independent courses and the set of
courses that lead to fulfill the requirements for awarding a degree: B.E./M.E./B.S./M.S./PhD.
To register and study a course, you must meet eligibility criteria. You
must know basic Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry to study the first
level course in Calculus. If the medium of instruction and examination
is English, you must pass a basic test in English to do a course in
History, Philosophy, Economics and Finance. To do a course, you must
pass a pre-requisite course. If you do not score well in the
pre-requisite, your understanding of the course will be limited. There
is a possibility that you are exceptionally brilliant and you decide to
skip the pre-requisite at your own risk. Normally studying a course has
a purpose. In exceptional cases you may like to do a course without any
purpose. Some courses prepare you to do next courses and some are
mandatory to fulfill degree requirements. Some courses satisfy your
curiosity and some courses expose you to new dimensions of thinking and
knowledge. Course counseling is an optional step to determine your
educational plans. At present, I am the course counselor for all courses
offered at MITS. I may take the help of experts as and when required to
provide better counseling. It is recommended that you get course
counseling from multiple sources.
