MITS Course Credit System
Education in MITS consists of course modules and
sessions. A session can be an academic year, a semester or a quarter
or a special term. An academic year is 10 months long and starts on
1st July every year. A semester is 4 months long and there are 3
semesters every year. A quarter is 3 months long and there are 4
quarters every year. A special term is 2 months long and there are
12 special terms every year. A new special term starts at the 1st of
every month. One course consists of one logical module of education.
Each course carries a weight with it specified as units. One unit
represents an expected work load of 3 hours per week. The
performance is evaluated in marks and grades. A student gets credits
for each course and this is summed up in the report card.
